I'll be running the one I have here some today, and even more tomorrow. The weather is supposed to be beautiful......so we are gonna make firewood.
Excellent.

With a ring this saw 1 ended at 108/123/75ish. No champhers. So I like big champhers lol. If you use the flashlight to check when assembled it looks to be 107/121/75ish. But most of that is due to the champhers.

Initial thoughts saw 1 is more torquey but there producing very very similar cut times. So is that do to the porting or due to the fact it has more run time. We will see. I plan on running both of these more today and more run time will tell me what I need to know. I hope. :)

I'm fixing to test this one....

108/124/and whatever on the intake. Single port on the muffler, no timing advance.

Exactly where I'm at on saw 2 but with a dual port!
Ad they are running right now. I don't wanna raise saw 2 exhaust. But saw 1 I would be willing.

Randy, what size bar will you be running?

Carl, the fact that cut times are nearly the same on both your saws regardless of intake timing - do you think that means the saw is carb limited?

I personally think the fact that saw 1 holds rpm better may be due to runtime. Will be interested in seeing what saw 2 does after similar time.

This saw needs more carb......I can't get past 13,500 or so on RPM.

It's holding 11,500 - 12,000 or so in the cut in oak with a 16" .325.

My ported 026 just lost to it. I'm adding another port to the exhaust and calling it good.

I like it. Exactly where these are at. And i agree on the carb. I wonder if say the 590 carb is bigger and will bolt on.

I think of the epoxied intake is gonna help it's gonna haft to come with the addition of a bigger carb

I think Mitch could have modified my carb but not sure.

What carb is on this saw?

What is the venturi diameter?

Carl or Randy, are either of you willing to measure the intake boot and spigot on the cylinder? Dimensions would be helpful for guys looking for a work-around.

I could spend some time tinkering with it, and find a little more. I might look at taking the throttle plates screws down some.......they are huge compared to the small size of the throat.
