Most of the guys on here that use them won't know the effects of running a saw with the skid plate installed. Now if you need to know if it protects it when you move it around the garage, thats where we can help. :)

Sounds like you have some good info on these. Anything more you could provide? Come on. Do tell.

They all look good. Do they rattle at all? Would you recommend them?
Thanks for the photos.

I'm just a firewood hack so my saws don't get used everyday and spend most of their time sitting on a shelf in my shop. I do however feel that the skid plates are a worth while investment. Saws aren't cheap and if a $20 skid plate can help preserve and protect them its money well spent in my book.

Most of the missing paint was from before I put the skid plates on. They really do add a layer of protection.

They all fit really well. They take a bit push to install. If they become loose I suppose you could just remove them and tighten up the part that wraps around the hand guard a bit. So far I haven't had to do anything with mine

Yes Ive used them on all my Stihls that they r made for . No problems at all but wish they madem for huskies
The one for huskies is supposed to be 1' wider and longer with a magnet on it to catch the screws before they hit the dirt
