Do they want a piston with the block? There was an Sp-125 block on ebay recently that the seller claimed to have had done at U.S. Chrome. The block had some piston residue on it which
looked like a "four-corner" seize. I was wondering if they got the clearance too tight.

I built a kart motor (Mc-91b) for a guy a few years ago and sent the block to be bored and included the piston I was using with it so they could get the clearance correct.
If they don’t ask for the piston, you don’t want to send them the cylinder!! Lol

I was looking for other blocks with no luck, so I called them and it was no big deal. Not real cheap, but well worth it I think.
I had a kx250 cylinder done a few years back and it was $330 with shipping! The price you got quoted isn’t bad, considering it’s blind!

Is 85539 the piston number you came up with? I didnt come up with anything on my end. Mark has a few sources to find such items he may share with you Mike. @heimannm

I would try pretty hard to find a new piston if i was sending the cylinder to be replated. But you got to work with what you got.

Yep same number I have here from the 1976 ipl. Yeah I'm not exactly in a hurry, and would much rather have a new piston. Hopefully Mark has a good source.

Mechanically yes, but it will keep it's patina at this point. It's in pretty good cosmetic shape for the most part.
Very nice. I’d likely do the same thing especially if I planned to actually take the saw out and use it once and a while.

Yeah I definitely want to run this one a good amount. Kind of hard not to want to run a 125 lol. How you been Mike?

I’ve been pretty good. Just been working and waiting for winter to hurry up and leave.
How’s things on the far side?
