Hello, I wanted to make some tools in order to work with chainsaws (and other equipment as well). Many of the service tools are so expensive, and I thought that I'll make them myself instead of buying them from dealers. The only problem I have is that there's no specs for the tools like the one Stihl 1106-890-4501. So basically I'm looking for the specs of the most common flywheel pullers for Stihl equipment (and possibly others). Does any one can provide me with some info, i.e. thread sizes, and other dimensions concerning Stihl flywheel pullers or other similar tools? I already made myself a set of the tap pullers based on this thread.

You can buy one that is threaded on both ends, it does a pile of the Stihls and is under $20. I can’t imagine why you would want to make that.

Usually because they are not available in my country and the shipping costs are crazy...

Thank You for the ping, but I am not knowledgeable in terms of Stihl-anything.

Looks simple enough to make unless You have to buy needed taps & dies, then it'd be cheaper to just buy the tool itself

A sharp tap with a brass hammer works as well as anything.
Wow........ Do you also use a screwdriver as a crowbar.

Random thought..............If spending $10 for the proper tool or a few minutes building one will starve your family then you might not want to working on saws

How I was taught by by STIHL dealer!

I was taught to use the proper tool for the proper job and to use it in the proper way.

I taught my sons the same way.....

According to some I was was wrong......hell some folks just go get a BFH and beat it the hell out of sheit.....🤔

Just saying that’s how I was taught by an experienced saw mechanic.

Lots of ‘field expedient’ methods that people use. Some people have all the specialty tools readily accessible. Sometimes it’s good to have options.

Well... :D

Subtotal 27,00 zł
Shipping 257,00 zł
Total 284,00 zł

which is almost $80...

Costs less than a brass hammer and works every time:

This one is a bit cheaper, but still:

Items: PLN 34.13
Shipping & handling: PLN 30.67
Estimated VAT: PLN 14.91
Order total: PLN 79.71
Payment Total: USD 22.40

If someone has one of the tools, all I need is thread sizes and dimensions. Making the tool wouldn't cost more than $1 for me (shipping included)... :D

What's the two external thread sizes of the tool on the left?
