Ya this festival is only about 1 hr from John and I. Sadly Ive never been as work always hindered

Id love to try and go and somehow see it survive.

Kensie my wifes kinfolks are the logging family , The Simons from Winnfield. Im sure u know them? One of the elderly of that family, Glen Simons recently passed and I was over yalls way for the funeral. The ole feller was a storybook full of logging tales

i feel like i have definitely heard the name or seen the trucks! Condolences on his passing! i love talking with old loggers, they always have the best stories! i heard quite a few of them when i was there this past year with my chainsaw collection!

i talked with my sister last night, she is on the board and she says that they are wanting to increase the entry fees to all of the competitions and change around and get more sponsors so they can have higher payouts for the competition winners in the hopes of attracting more people.

I’m going to talk to my sister and see if we can’t get the tractor show to come back and also get some chainsaw carvers to come.

Not sure about Mr. Hanson (Coon) but Mr. Joe is stepping down from organizing after 2018 and since no one wanted to step up, and she said if they couldn’t find anyone to do it then the forest festival would be gone and i can’t and won’t let that happen, not after 39 years! If it does then it won’t be because i didn’t try my damndest to save it.

One of my best friends goes to church with Joe and they , Hanson and Joe, would get him to Cater for them during the events

Well that’s good to know! I’m still learning how everything is done and setup, I’m trying to Get Logger Wade from YouTube there for this year to hopefully attract more people from out of state.
