Thanks!

2018 will be his last year so I’m trying to get enough hype about it so by the time 2019 rolls around people can make themselves available. Chances are we are going to be looking at raising the entry fees a bit and trying to pickup more sponsors so we can have higher payouts for the winners of all the competitions including the lumberjack type competitions

Someone puts on a good race in Sheridan Arkansas I believe.
May want to dig up who runs that one and get some info or a mailing list.
If you can get ahold of Wayne Slayton, he might be a good resource too. I think his group is out of Alabama area. If you set a date, I can let a half dozen fellas in SE MO know about it. As they already race as far south as Jackson and Sheridan anyways.

Wayne puts on the Jackson Alabama show. Chris Cicora would be a good one to talk to. I knnow he went down to Texas last year with a few others from the northeast to run

Another thing is what’s a common entry fee and payout for the winners, we are wanting to make sure we are competitive with other competitions so racers and competitors keep coming back!

I have seen entry fee's from $0 to $20 per class.

Cheaper the better for me..

Payouts to 1st 2nd and 3rd places.

from $250 first as a high to only $25 as a low.
Some places it's just a trophy. lol.

If you want to focus on local participation, braggin right's and a $20 bill is all anyone can ask for to win a class, but if you want the somewhat serious guys to attend, I'd think they would like to have a chance to at least buy some gas and a steak for their trouble.

Awesome! Thanks! The more people we can attract the bigger the pot! Im also going to try and get a chainsaw carving competition organized, apparently there are several world class chainsaw carvers in Mississippi.
