Their teeth are nasty, long & curled. The guy with the skidder could not believe it (and was pissed) cause he also had chains on it and they managed to eat though a little gap that was in the chains. I almost looked like they should not have been able to get in there, but they did.

I set up a 12' high life guard chair on top of a 6' high rock, and cabled it down to the rock so it would not blow away. The porkys started eating my aluminum turn buckles, I had to put roofing tar on them!

Here ya go boys all done welding. Just waiting for paint in the spring. Much happier the way it come out now, all I have to do is weld a couple log chain hooks onto the back so I can secure the log while transporting. I'll have to wait until spring to get some paint on it. unnamed (1).jpg unnamed (2).jpg unnamed (3).jpg unnamed.jpg

It seems like every time I go to an auction in the last few years the prices were going extremely high.

Yeah, auction stuff has got unreal anymore, especially farmer auctions, I've seen stuff sell for 2x the price that you could get them new. I'm just trying to throw out ideas for building an arch, and here's another, roll bars for tractors and lawn mowers. These were the items I was looking at when I was contemplating building an arch.

A tractor roll bar might be heavy enough. but I don't think a lawn mower one would be. I could be wrong but it would also depend on the size of logs your lifting. The first version of my arch was free except the hitch and $25 dollars for the axle I got the hubs off of. Now with the remodel I bought $100 worth of new metal. I wish I had a scrap pile but I don't. I am much happier with the current design.
