Just changing to a regular large Stihl style filter in the tank and a inlet cap instead of the big filter I had on top of the carbeltater rid the air problem in the line. Not sure why this is, as it pressure checked through the filter just fine. Can't argue with what works though either.

The mail man conspired to slow this project as he delivered parts for multiple projects going on, all at once. Going to have to take a short break and finish up a couple things. When the time comes I will advance the timing and try and see if it will tune decent. The idle has come down with the repair made, so it has that going for it.

While taking off a bar and chain today I had the bright idea of seeing if it would cut. So installed it and with a rudimentary tune by ear I gave it a go. Ran the throttle with my thumb, while it ran pretty good, there's more to do like the air deflector to keep the cylinder cool. So I didn't run it much, just enough for the fuel cap to spring a leak and piss right on me. Not even the gasket was coming right out the middle of the cap. So I took the bar and chain back off and threw it out in the wood shed. Hard to say how long it will languish there, for the moment I really don't care. It's just one more in a long line of Stihl's that have pissed fuel on me.

Been tinkering here and there. Made a throttle linkage out of a 3/32" welding rod. Some aluminum plate for the air deflector and carb back plate mount.
Replaced the gas cap with a different AM one. Hopefully it doesn't pee on me too.

Been waiting for HL Supply to restock the Chinese 20" B&C to follow suit with the all AM build. Will try to run it when they do.
Until then...

You forgot to say bump.

And....

You better not tease us and then wait on a galldang bar and chain!
I know you have something there you could throw on for testing purposes.

Well I went and ordered a 20" .063" 3/8" Raisman bar from HLSUPPLY. Was all I could find and no chain available. Figured if I am going to run oddball chain I should go heavy for safety sake. Going to do the AM thing right to the rnd. So half way there...
