That is weird? Is the strap in the back a splinter or did it let go early?

A crispy alder from this morning.

Felled this back leaning, twisty ash, part of a multi stem, made a pop when I was wedging it over, didn’t chair but pretty close.

I screwed up taking down this Maple last fall:

Decided to relocate that big stump I drug off the field a few weeks back. I just needed a larger toy to shove it into its final resting place !!


I also relocated the entire brush pile since I was there. Sure do like running the dozer

Had to high-stump this one to avoid the barbed wire, and also the bluing in the wood because of it.

Dead standing Ash I took down a couple weeks ago.

I used my Echo CS-501P to make the bottom cut of the Face Cut and then my Council Tool Jersey and Boy's Axes to make the notch or top cut:



I then used the Echo to make the back cut. It took about 8-10 minutes of work and about 45 minutes of work+rest to axe the face cut notch.

Here is a sample stump of the black cherry I have been cutting in.
I have 28" bars on the mac 80 and 850.
Nice firewood and pretty nice saw logs for the hobby mill in there.

Hopefully you can mill some of it, that looks like a kinda dandy sawlog from here.
