Saw this little gem in the state park yesterday. The back cut on the lower "attempt" is all the way to the hinge.

I see stumps like that occasionally where the big government entities were cutting, they’ll do a high stump and drop the tree then have their rookies do practice cuts on the stump.

It was a nice day outside finally, so I took down a small (14") dead ash. The small ones always seem to be the pesky ones, didn't want to go over.

Didn't want to get too cute with the hinge on these dead ash. Used a rope to pull it down.

I got real lucky. I think the .404 square ate some small bits of metal but missed the bolts. It was done after two tanks. So was i. Need to get the 288 back up. It’s just enough lighter than the 395…
