Yeah, ended up ringing them after they threatened to ban my account for listing a completely dismantled stihl 041 . They let me list it but explained there were clowns with nothing better to do with their lives than report saws without brakes.

I wonder how many vintage saws end up at scrapyards because they are too hard to sell?
Yeah well this one guy asked a question on it and I said chain brake wasn't complete so he must have reported it. Damn busy body

Mate said he had an old husky at the back of his shipping container for me, said it seemed like a larger one. I've been wanting a 272 to fill a hole in my collection for a while, so once we finally fished it out without top cover or bar cover, got the cylinder numbers 52zn etc thought I'd snagged an older 268 with a 272 cylinder. Get it home and all the parts off my 380 swap over. So looks like it's a 280. Bit bummed.

Long story short I'm actively looking for a 268/272 project, preferably with a good mahle cylinder. If anyone has one gathering dust.

cam2012 on trademe is selling 272 parts , I’ve found him good to deal with over the years . His prices are pretty good too

Typical . There was a bunch of smaller stihls in there , 231 025 etc and maybe an 029/039 plus husky 55 , 272 and a 2100 parts saw plus two or three echo top handles.
Was there an asking price or was it $1 reserve?

Knocked off early today, apparently the Waimak bridge may shut soon.
Worst flooding here since '93

Far out, there'd normally be 7 or 8m under the bridge wouldn't their? Was just a trickle last time I was down there

Cleared up in Tasman now, was a few days of consistent heavy rain, couldn't get through the Ford to go anywhere so had to stay home with the fire going. What a shame lol

Just got an email from Terry at chainsaw partsworld and he's sending out parts in level 4 if you need them.
