Bring your beast, please. We shall test it with a long bar. Need feed back for mill operations. I know where an 038 basket case is laying. It has no jug, missing plastic but it rolls over smooth. That can be cured with a big jug, some thread taps and a spinny thingy.

I found pictures of the case damage. It was cracked in 4 places, and bent in. I had to make a spreader bar to push the case front out and hold it while I welded it.

Looks like a very hard hit straight on the front like it was dropped vertically. What do you thing did it?

I think it was a slower type of damage, a sudden hit like dropping usually wouldn't bend magnesium, it just shatters then. So my guess is it got trapped in in a stump and had a lot of pressure on that case half front from something. You'd think the dog would hit first but I didn't see any damage to the threads where it attaches.

But it's safe to say, someone messed up and probably got fired.

Did you get to time the jug, do any mods or shakedown tests?
Nope. I don't own a degree wheel nor would I take time on a stock work saw.

Running it...I've run enough big ones it's lost the fun factor. That one I have run a bit and unless that 42" bar is buried its not that impressive.

The owner of the company is the only one to run that saw. If I guessed a crane pick swung in or leaned that way and got it. Normal use is flush cutting stumps or when lifting large crane picks.
