A better way could not be thunked sew here we are. It's easy for folks to view this incident in hindsight and forget that this $hit-sammy got dumped in our lap without warning. The only way to deal with it besides sweeping it under the rug was to eat that sammich 1 bite at a time. We did the best we could given the circumstances. I wish we could have done better.

The take away is clear communication will always be the best course of action and an apology goes a long way too. Don't duck and dodge and refuse to talk and "stuff" never gets to this point.

Yeah back when a man's word and shake of the hand was as good as gold. Back when you could leave your doors unlocked and neighbors were good to have. I've been saying for years I was born in the wrong era. I dont belong in this one

Meeting the guys on these forums helped me a lot. I've never been a trusting person. But I've met a whole bunch of good people here. Just one more reason why I'll fight tooth and nail to keep the con artists away.

I agree, I think its easier to get complacent paying for stuff on the interwebs, but a hand shake and a promise (face to face ) usually sorts that out.
I probably would have waited to see the offending party in this situation in person to air my grievance , makes persons real honest in a hurry when your with in smelling distances.
