Was thinking more along the lines of unique opportunity for them to easily access the tooling and such for easy cloning. More of a fire sale scenario.

I hope you bring us good news @Wilhelm, I mean if Stihl and Husqvarna are continueing
to make gas chainsaws, then a company like Dolmar has no obvious need to stop making
their contributions, its either financialy unviable, or a real environmental clampdown is coming.

Why didn't Makita just sell off the Dolmar brand and the manufacturing facility? They could have made millions and some new owner could have also continued to make millions selling Dolmar petro powered equipment?
