So what was your impression cutting with it? Handling? Seems to be pretty snotty and good torque.
Seemed like the av's were pretty soft, even with that lightweight bar.looks weird, but you can really notice the magnetic resistance of the big generator inside flywheel of the 500i
i had not much time today, only two cuts, but my first impression so far it feels like good running 681/79 powerwise. In terms of handling it feels more like a 60cc saw in my hands, like the 462 before. The throttle response is super snappy, very fast acceleration for a stock saw, even faster than the 462.
It's a spring AV Stihl after all. What I want to know is why they did not go with air injection.Seemed like the av's were pretty soft, even with that lightweight bar.
I can't wait to get one of these. I am so tired of mixing oil with my gas.
yes they are! It's a fuel injected (to the intake) 2 stroke engine but still needs pre-mixed fuel, the only (two stroke) engine with seperate lubrication i know for handheld-devices is the Solo 881 cutter with iLube https://de.solo.global/gb/cut-off-machines/31-881-cut-off-machine-ilube.htmlI thought these were fuel injected but still 2 stroke? Are they 4 stoke?
Thanks for clarifying, is there any recommendations on oil ratio? I know most run 40:1 w mtronic and autotune saws, does the fuel injection change any of this?I giess biggest worry is viscosity.yes they are! I would imagine the bottom end is still lubricated by the fuel system, which is why people want to run 32:1 some even 25:1So it's possible you could get away with higher viscosity. Don't know why you would want to though.
