C4884845-05F9-4156-BDAD-E4BEE429EEEE.jpeg I’m looking for a starter nut for a super pioneer, the one above is a DC, I’m currently working on a DA. The starter nut was used on DA,DB and DC.

IMG_2629.JPG IMG_2630.JPG Had to put this together to see how it looked. Not sure about the color, a good match for the faded Red so it can stay the way it is.
Still needs a couple welds one one on tank side cover for bolt hole and one on the muffler. Looking for a starter nut, might have to manufacture that.
Made the gas line with the original Brass fittings on the DC hope I can do that again.

Today I pulled out all of my saws and sold 3 of them. I had myself talked into also selling my 2 pioneers. I have a small house and not much room but anyway I fired up my p52 and p41 with brand new p42 p n c with boost ports i just bring myself to sell them. They are too damned wicked

Started reviewing my 650. Some impressions here:

p-650_carb_1.jpg

p-650_fuel-line.jpg

Fuel line looks foreign.

p-650_clutch.jpg
Clutch shoes look worn. Noticeable amount of black dust inside the clutch.
Does the clutch contain asbestos?

Cylinder looks good inside

View attachment 256642

as does the piston both through outlet and inlet port.

View attachment 256640

Clinder head looks as if it has taken some major impacts. No match for the traces at the piston.
May the piston has been replaced in the past and the head left as is?

OEM fuel lines are very scarce for these old saws and most would be shop rotted by now, that is why one often sees cobbled up, non original fuel lines in them but at least they work well enough to run the saw. It doesn`t look like it would need much to get this saw up and running, they are simple to work on. We owned and run them from 58 til the late 70`s and still have 20 odd in number hanging around here.

Saturday I discovered the 650 having no spark at all.
Pulled the flywheel and metered resistance of all ignition components. Found
the kill switch being the cause by having continuity regardless of the switch's position.
When I pulled the cable the terminal broke off the switch. Then I found the second terminal
on the switch is also controlled by the switch, only at opposite position so I soldered I wire
to the second terminal and connected the kill line to it. Works!

Rebuilt the carb with a new gasket set and found the old pump-diaphragm missing
the valve-flaps. Second reason for the saw not running.

p650_diaphragms.jpg

New gaskets top and old ones bottom. See the missing flaps on pump-diaphragm bottom right.

Saw only runs when I drip some fuel into the intake funnel. It then immediately produces
some ignitions and then dies. It simply doesn't pump any fuel into the carb.
Fule line and filter bulb are OK, I tested them with a vacuum pump in lieu of the carb
and fuel came at plenty.
I suspect the pulse channel which I hadn't opened yet.

Cool finds for sure. Is the p65 a boost port top end?

Pics of the p52. I have to go back and get the p65. Is the boost port the recessed part in the cylinder wall??

The last picture you posted is a boost port. Measure the bore of that cylinder.

Does anybody know the correct bar mount pattern of the 650?
According to Mike Acres its ought to be K095 but my saw came with
something very different:

bar-mount-p650.jpg

Unfortunately no other designations than those visible in the pic so I don't know what is but it seem to fit.
