View attachment 232471 Well, I got a P51 running today, another good day.
It sure has a nice bark to it. Condo neighbours won't like me firing up that one, HaHaHa.
It's taken awhile, I cooked the 3 coils for 4 days in my wife's old crock pot on low
2 coils are working now might get the P51 western going tomorrow.
Coils in crock pot? What does that do?

Well I heard it might work in an oven, tried that, wife didn't like that much.
So she had a crock pot she never uses. It did take moisture out of them because I was whipping it off the inside of the lid. Had 3 coils no spark on any, tried them on 2 different saws, now I have 2 working.

I did 3 coils in the oven a couple of days ago, two of the saws fired right up, and I will try the last one today.

Yesterday's arrival at my place:

I haven't yet looked under the hoods so I hope no essential parts are missing.
These big Pioneers are difficult to come by here in Germany and this one looked promising in the ad and according to
seller is a runner. We'll see...

IMG_2501.JPG IMG_2503.JPG Pioneer 750 is getting there, took the old coil off and put the new import coil on.
I heated both up to about 250.

Today I started looking after my Pioneer 650 and also started cleaning her.
Mainly I wanted to look if any essential part is missing so I put her on my bench
and started stripping her off.
What I already had noticed is: serial number plate is missing, annoying but not a showstopper.

The rest looks pretty good at first glance, no tons of dirt, nothing broken, no cracks and such:

What's missing is of course what you don't see...

Handlebar has been welded to its support
Pioneer_650_bfr_clng_muffler_handlebar.jpg

and the Schefenacker starter handle doesn't fit her well
Pioneer_650_bfr_clng_cyl_carb_flywhl.jpg

... and what you don't see is the cylinder shroud because, well, its misisng!

That's pretty bad news.

Next step must be to check cylinder & piston if there has been overheating in the past in case the saw
has been run without the shroud.
If there is overheating damage then this saw will likely end up as an expensive parts supply.
If not I might either try to find a shroud or try to make a replacement part DIY.

That shroud on ebay is NLA. But would probably not have fitted. Virtually all
parts seem to be different even between 600 and 650...

So I'm looking for a Inner Shroud Assembly No.470746 for my 650, please PN me
if you have one to sell.

I wouldn’t... coils are notoriously bad on them and seems like they had recoil issues too. Too much work for for a heavy 60cc... now if it were a 42-52 series you’d have something...
Someone paid me 250 for that saw on ebay. Crazy stuff

View attachment 241671 Got some JB and primer on the 750, it's looking pretty good now.
The 750 is looking good, a few things to repair yet. The muffler is pretty rough on the front, need to make a cover. The on off switch has no spark when in on or off position Disconnect wire and I have spark. The clutch cover is pretty rough and needs bodywork.BE621ABF-3F10-4518-8352-EF1494325D99.jpegEB2B7745-A717-4BDF-8CE5-C3419CE56C3E.jpegA528C68E-DB7D-4BA2-AA55-A5AA2F2EA270.jpeg

100 dollar saw. Needs stuff maybe a coil? It acts like a rev limiter.
No rev limiter in the coils on these saws. However the carbs have a governor. It's right by the choke lever. Looks like a brass plug. Take it out with care not to strip it. Make a piece of soda can the same size as the bottom of the governor, then put it in and followed by the governor. Tune it till it 4 strokes at full throttle unloaded.

Maybe I didn't do something right with the p42 boost port. Because this p52 is an animal way more powerful than the p41 to 42hp. I need a top handle and also the top part that has the throttle lever. A little foot plate. Know where I can find these? I'll be watching ebay. Is a p52 a little more rare? Sorry for all the questions. Any help at all is greatly appreciated ty

It's 82cc vs 66 cc that's why it's stronger. The little foot plate will be a hard part to find. Maybe get lucky watching eBay.
