Hyway or Meteor is my recommendation. 130 is kinda low, my brother's 281 from that era made 180psi with a lightly scored piston.

With a bgd my 288 is pushing 200. Starting it cold is interesting…no decomp.

I am still waiting for them to get their 2100 and 261 (coated) pistons back in stock

I’m debating using their 2100 kit and selling the thin ring top I have for more than I paid for the saw

I paid $200 for one that was in near mint condition…nice bar, a few chains and a case…until I got it home and pulled the muffler…
Cyl cleaned up, replaced the piston with oe. Nice saw now…have yet to cut with it, however.

Some of the old Huskies are worth a lot more as parts. The metal flag chain brake on a 281/288, if in excellent condition can go for $100+.

I’m always looking for the parts. I rebuild clutch covers and recoils

Would have to look,, that was 3 yrs ago,, its resides at the cabin, will have a look, but think i may have opened muffler it up thats it..
it nice enuff i wont ever part with it.

I'm not home Mark to verify. So I stole this pic off of a @Woodwackr post on this thread. The snubber should face the fuel tank and the barb that broke should face outward to the starter.

On top of cylinder fin I believe , should be hole in goes into , but it look like a new one is in order,

Like Squareground stated, I think it is the support between the cylinder and top cover.

And, with a wrap and wrap brake handle, excellent!
If the band is shot they are available from an Irish company.

Goes in the top of the cyl. Top cover support.
I have some if you can’t find any.
