'Spose to be a 266 XPG. See the little switch. I'll see when it gets here .

At least the metal tank/rear handle fits with the "G", unless the saw is badly misrepresented and several years older than a 266xpg should be.....

Leap of faith. It appears correct and Aaron agrees. Could be a Frankensaw but the patina is even. Even allowing it to be correct the "G" components have to be complete and working for it to be a real over the top score. We'll see.

All used saws could be Frankensaws - there is a difference between finding out what a saw model was when it left the factory, and what it is by now.

Some saws even may have left the factory as sort of Frankensaws - typically this involves parts for more expensive models used in cheaper ones, when the lesser parts have been in short supply.

We never sorted out if you were going to get them or not Tor so dont worry...turns out there easy to get in the UK if you ask the right people.
It turned out to be a real peach and is just a used rather than abused 346 !
:)

Those dawgs "steal" a lot of bar length, not a good idea on a light 50cc saw imo.

I hear what you are saying, but I really like dawgs that "Bite" the wood (pardon the pun- couldn't help myself)! I prefer large, very sharp dawgs that you can leverage/lean on with very little effort. I actually have a second set of custom shorter dawgs as well, I just prefer the larger ones. The bar is 20" and there is a good 18" that is usable. If I need more bar than that, I just grab another saw with a 25" bar. Plus, you can't argue with the coolness factor of these dawgs- lol!

@Sierradmax made both sets for me. I believe that he charges around $35-40 per set for either of the two styles (although his prices may have changed). He does these for extra income and runs them in batches, so he may need some lead time. The larger dawgs also have the holes in them for a roller chain catcher. Justin is awesome to work with and his craftsmanship is top notch. I was really impressed with the quality, fit and functionality. I hope this helps!

I like the roller chain catcher idea too. I don't throw them often, but .050 drivers get boogered up faster than .063 does...

It does have wires to the handle element. The lead from the switch is disconnected behind the recoil. It's filthy. The bar was shipped separate and has yet to arrive. It does have spark. I haven't checked compression or pulled the muffler yet.

How does the 266 compare with the 365 special, specs-wise?
