I always have a bottle of blue Loctite when assembling, never had one of those back out. Only screws that ever moved on mine were recoil and top cover.Question regarding the husky air conductor, do the screws ever back out?
I’ve never had a problem, with just loctite plus nice and tight, I just don’t always trust fasteners that clamp onto plastic that can relax over time.
Anyone ever do anything special here?

Just get a 572xp... perfect team with the 346xp. Thank me later.... lolYeah, someone pointed out to me that the saws I mentioned have been moved down to the bottom of their web page for some reason. I never scrolled to the bottom thinking those were where their larger saws were.
Good to know. However, that puts me back in the 555 -vs- 562XP debate again. Being that I have and use my NE346XP w/18" b&c for most of my needs, the 562XP w/20" b&c might be the way to go for the larger stuff.
NYH1.
I thought @Spike60 was reviewing a 555 MKII in one of Walt's recent videos but I was mistaken and it was a 550 MKII. Maybe he'll have time to drop in and shed some light on the 555 subject.
I had back surgery that went sideways. So weight that doesn't bother most folks adds up quickly for me. I already have a 365XT with transfer slot mod. It has all the power I/we will ever need.Just get a 572xp... perfect team with the 346xp. Thank me later.... lol
What about the 565? Does it make any sense or should you get the 572?The 555 hasn't been discontinued, but I wouldn't miss it if it does. The way it is squeezed between the 550M2 and the 562, both in power and price, it's kind of pointless. I don't even stock it anymore, and no one asks for it. The 555 is shown in the catalog with the same dark gray crankcase as the 545/565, but I've never seen one.
The way the 562 has been promoted for the Fall program, I currently pay $3 less for a 562 than for the 555. Even at regular pricing, there is only a $25 difference. Nobody will buy a 555 if it's that close in price to a 562. The spread would need to be $100 for it to sell, and that's where the 550M2 is priced. On top of that, the new 550 is rated just 2/10 a horse power less than the 555. (4.1 vs 4.3; 4.8 for the 562). It's lighter and smoother. Add in the better air filter, heat management and other improvements and why on earth would anyone pay more and get a 555?
But for someone who already has a nice 346, then the 562 would be the only worthwhile step up the ladder. Both the 550M2 and 555 are too close to the 346. No point in spending all that money and not really gain any capability.
How much less is it than the 572xp for you? Some other places it’s like only a 50$ difference, which isn’t much. The 565 has plenty of room between the 562 and 572 to be a relevant model. There's about a $200 gap between those two saws and the 565 slots in there nicely. Actually a pretty good seller for me.
That's a good question. I am guessing they can't. I figure they have the same cylinder but different coils and carbs or programming. If it could be done it probably wouldn't be cost effective. This is purely my opinion and I could be completely wrong. Hopefully someone will know the facts.Spike, can the 565 be upgraded/modded to the 572 like the 365 XT could be upgraded/modded to the 372 XT?

Yep, I believe so.So the 565 is a "de-tuned" 572???
Like the 545/550 and the 555/562??
I'm not up on the latest.... I'm getting older/slower....
