Found a 372XP locally. New piston and cylinder. No bar and chain. Not badly beaten, so I dont think it was used commercially. What would be a fair price?

Around three to four tops if it's OEM cylinder and piston in great shape
If not OEM 200 to 300

Thanks PMP. Think he said 3, but he can probably be talked down a bit. I passed it to one of my sons friends. Hes going by there to check it out and see if he can "negotiate".
I negotiated with him a year or so ago for my PM700. He came down about $50 without much fuss, so hes fair to deal with.

Negotiations were made. He sent this pic earlier. I think he's happy. Got this pic earlier. Glad to have helped. Will send pic separate.

Maybe its a bad thing, but I enjoy seeing someone else get the fever, orange instead of yellow these days is ok. We've all evolved, right?

They don’t make em like that any more
No they don't. They make em lighter and faster but I doubt they will last as long as this thing has. It's been used alot and still runs very well.

I agree. It's all original too except for a new air filter, starter rope, clutch and a carb kit. Oh, and a new Chinese fuel cap. I had to replace the kill switch too, bout forgot about that.

Question for those who know what they are talking about. I have a couple of 372's oe and a couple of 61's an orange top and a black top. My question is are there any real gains by putting a BB52mm kit on the 372's, and the same with the 61's or am I just better off giving all 4 a birthday and give them a quick hone and chuck a new ring at each of them?

Tthe 61s will gain a lot from a 268xp or 272xp top end but require different intake setups than the 61 so you have to source more parts to complete the swap. I can't comment on the 372.

Looks like you could do one of each and then tell us. LOL

You will see significant gains in both saws if you do them right. And by all means, and as already stated, stay OEM if you do anything to any of them.
