Anyone know much about the 576? I’m gonna look at one tonight. $80 for a saw in a box with a bad crank. I’m not sure if she is an at or conventional carb. Have the software updates for the at fixed the problems they’ve had in the past?

Nay! List price on a 576 crank is $298.47. No aftermarket alternatives that I know of. So, this isn't a project saw, it's a parts saw. You'd need to find another one with a good bottom end if you are looking to build something.

576AT was a first generation auto tune. No updates are possible cause it's not a programable carb like the 562 and such. Not necessary either as there were really no AT issues on the 576.

Where some guys got into trouble with the 576AT, was that it has to have the gray AT ignition. Some would replace them with 455 or 372 coils and the saw would run like crap if it ran at all.

I’m not afraid of finding parts, I just don’t want the problem that wrecked this crank in the first place if caused by the auto tune to happen again. Was there a software update? I don’t have great husky dealership around me so not sure if either one of the two knows how to run a computer much less think they come on chainsaws.

Edit:
Reread a few posts up. I’ll look it over good and see if anything else is toast or if she is high hour. If I can keep this project south of $400 I’ll be in. I always enjoy a saw in a box project. Kind of like doing a jigsaw puzzle.

I believe I have a 570 bottom end if that will work.

The prick on marketplace sold it out from under me. I’m all for first come first serve, but damn it, I couldn’t get there till the next day. Shouldn’t there be some honor in the order of whom called first.

I've had sooooo many people give me the runaround when I posted my chicken coup for free. I finally got the chits of it and said first come first serve. When someone tells you they will be there then you reserve the evening and they no show, ya give up. From this point, it's 1st here gets it no matter what I list. Just the way it is. Parenting skills are on a steep decline IMO, only going to get worse.
