Jake..I think... there like some other of the saws on that bottom end and have a adjuster on the pump case by the clutch... top left in the pic .

i found it hidden under gunk and it was on 1 and barely oiling so i placed it on 4 and it is doing better now.
Good...think the range on the saw was 15"-20 " ish 24" at as push , so 3 or 4 for a long bar should be much better. Glad to help :)

I just got a brand spanking new Husqvarna 440 x torque. My second. My first 440 I really like. Has worked hard for me passed couple of yrs. I want to modify my new one. Definitely muffler mod. Possibly a better air filter box or an cone type air filter. I don't think I want to port this saw, other than maybe clean up the edges, and polish everything nice and slick. Still undecided on any of the porting.
Looking for suggestions, and upgrade parts and numbers anything that will beast up this lil saw.

Could not help but notice the difference between the original and Meteor piston for a 266XP circa 1986. Not that I think the replacement won't work, pretty sure it will, was curious to know what difference it would make running, if at all. Calling out @Spike60 , @Tor R , and any other Husqvarna aficionados that would like to chime in.
(Piston has been carbon scored, Mahle cylinder is salvageable, Meteor piston was chosen as it was 1/5 price of OEM, $ reality.)
