Does anyone know what is supposed to go in this empty hole?

I can't tell from the IPL's that I have looked at if that is for the chain catcher, or if the chain catcher is supposed to mount further forward with the screw for the front AV spring.

That version can take either of the 2 chain catchers. The plastic, older version up front or the little aluminum or plastic one behind.

The AL ones are easy to make out of 1 1/2"x1/8" AL angle stock. Cut at 15° with chop saw.

Made a decomp button for my buddy's 372 out of a 45 acp case, cut the case in half, filled with plastic mix, after curing for 48 hrs drilled a hole in it and mounted it with epoxy, we'll see if it holds up and for how long, hope he likes it.

I don’t know if it would physically fit, but you would for sure lose the chain brake.

390 has inboard clutch dosent it? i assumed it was outboard.
if its inboard then i doubt it will fit

The parts I orders a month ago arrived this week. If I get my two man saw project completed I will be back on the 262. I'm trying to get a few things ready for the MMWS GTG next weekend...

I had to take a break from the 7-55 two man saw so I put the pieces in the 262 (seal collar, intake gasket, air conductor, and I added a chain catcher.



It runs and cuts well now. I may use it for some firewood harvesting this fall and keep it on my "for sale" rack just in case someone comes in looking for a bigger saw.

Yes , they can be a stout pull , especially after porting, but I left mine without one, the old school way,

I heard someone call them "factory installed air leaks"...made me laugh. I prefer not to have them, I plug mine.
