Full feedback on trials please Sir :)...interested in how the coil swap from a 550 onto the 545 went .
sure, I thought to use the 545 in some bucking before I swap coils again, but I wonder if the only difference between them is different rpm limitation. I had a couple spare coils so why not :)

Yea.....I figured there could be some auto tune situation that "May" happen with the swapping around of parts. I just dont know what you" can and cant do " with these saws. Very interested in what you find Tor as what your doing is after all .."Without" the laptop and diagnostics of a dealer available to you and would be the same for me working on the 500 auto tune saws. Have 3 that i now have come in from customers to service ...2X 560xp and a 550xp.

I didnt have any issues when I used 545 coil + 550 carb, saw started and act normal, just as nice as I used the 550 coil and carb.
My 545 carb has an issue, my thought is AT issue since it starve for fuel and I really can't find anything wrong with the carb.
When I visit my dealer next time I'll bring one 550 or 545 with me and get him to show me how the program work, if it's possible to flash the AT unit etc.

Later when I get bored of the 545 I'll split it and mount stuffers, they are not expensive, cost more with new seals and gasket set who I unfortantly also has to buy

I have to admit that I like to work on those 5xx serie saws, even it's tight in the carb area when I first found my own technique I use shorter time to swap carb+airfilterholder on 550 compared to 346.
Those 545/550 is beautiful made inside out, done it once they are joy to work with.

I somehow have got alot back from the 254/262 service tool I bought to crank them together, the same set I also use on 357 and 550

I agree ...the 500 saws are well screwed together if a bit tight to work on. Im still getting to know them and find my way around inside but im not doing the same level of strip back you are . Not having all the knowledge to test Auto tune components is my issue if a saw comes in with running problems so im interested in all that you are doing.

242 XPG - 91, bought it from Germany, came in bit and pieces.
Took most of the day to finish this project, not really 100% done either, but it's working 100%.
Ill probleby swap the clutch drum since I've ordered a couple plastic worm gears + clutch spring.

New bearings &seals&fuel line&gasket kit, No gasket, new caber ring, think it will raise maybe a tad more, but I'm happy with 185 psi.

I plan to visit a couple dealers on tuesday if they have got the parts I ordered, hopefully I can find a bit used xpg parts there as well, and who knows, maybe a new project ;)
