Great build on one of my favorites. My 357 always impresses me when I run it no matter what I’m cutting. Limbing or 20”+ blocks, it doesn’t care and just blows through them. Nice catch on the flywheel, I’m sure you were going nuts for a little bit...lol

You gots a video of it yet?:)

357 is impressive! When I first got on chainsaw forums 8 years ago the 357 wasn't gettin any love, said it was too heavy, too close to a 346 in power, too close to a 372 in weight, not as good as a 262, bla, bla, bla. I got one anyway and after running it for a few minutes, I thought "Damn how could all those experts be so wrong!" lol :D

I felt that way about the 261 version II, I thought according to the specs and what the experts said I'd be selling all my 50cc huskys, 2 weeks after getting the 261 it was the one going down the rd lol. If you like stihls it's a great saw, but nothing more than the 550 in my eyes.

I will take my 2253 (red/black 550) over a 261 as well personally. A joy to run and well balanced. Compact physically as well... like a 50cc should be. I would try out a 241c if I needed another small saw just to see what it is like. They seem to be well liked.

I've been so close to buying a ms261 a few times, but, but, but. :D

Just grab another 550, I just prefer the handling(as I'm guessing you do too) of the husky although the 261 is a great running saw. In the smaller saws(40cc and less) I have plenty of stihls as well as others, as the handling doesn't play as much of a factor to me.

Those are nice too, but getting closer to the stihls with the straight top handle, the clutch helps the balance though.
If you need a small saw then the 241 is a great runner as are the 4300 for a lot less cash.

I like the handlebar angle on my 562 a tad better than the 2253, not only that but the diameter is thicker... which is a bit better imo. I can live with it either way though, I like them both. 421 is a suprisingly good runner for the $.

I agree with all that. I like the larger bars on the newer handle, just wish they had the same surface as it was "grippier" on the oe's.

I've never owned a 550 & have too many 346s'. But I do agree with ya!

That cracks me up! As we know, a 357 will stomp a 346 in power (stock & modded), is nowhere near a 372 in weight and despite the fan club I would put my 357 against any 262 out there...bring it. Lol

Yeah, it was funny as hell. I didn't believe them back then and bought a lightly used 357 sight unseen. Now have 3 or 4 of em. :D

You know I still keep a few around for good measure though:beer-toast1:.
I like the 550's and the autotune/mtronic saws for jobs and when I'm in a hurry, but if rather run the 3 series saws cutting firewood, if like if they had the captured bar nuts and the flippy caps (anyone got a bunch of flippy caps they want to get rid of :).
