They all ran real nice, the 385 seemed pretty tame for a ported one all though
I’ve run several ported 385/390’s. A good ported 70cc saw is really not that far off in terms of cut speed with a ported 385/390xp. Just less torque. Imo they don’t really start to show there increase in power over a ported 70cc saw until your burying the bar in 30+” stuff. Then the gain in torque is much more noticeable.

I agree with this.

Exactly! I worked with an older guy who would run nothing other than 390 or 385.
We were cutting smaller 2nd growth .
I talked him into trying my 372 and he was amazed that a saw that small would cut like that. I laughed let him run it for the rest of the day. The following Monday he had himself a new 372. I will never forget that

Yes I understand that, if the bigger saw is running the same shorter bar and sprocket it’s most generally not going to be faster unless it’ll turn crazy Rpms in the wood. Either way nice demonstration.

Two drilled holes later and that’s much better than having just one dog felling trees or bumping knots/crotches on the landing! Finally got this thing setup the way I think it should have come out of box... two dogs and a roller catch. For what I’m doing the two smaller dogs are adequate here in the east but out west in thicker bark I’d definitely upgrade to the large spikes. This is what I was looking for today and yet it seems like Husqvarna has quit making them and only has the one that elimates the captive bar nuts.. I never liked that design and really liked this one but it simply cannot be found in stock anywhere.
