That off the roll square file went through that tough White Oak cant pretty good! That is why, for work chain, I just try to replicate the factory angles.

Let it sit in the hot bed of the truck for about 30 minutes heat soaked after doing multiple long cuts with the 32” and took it out and let it sit in the sun for about 10 minutes. No choke or primer used... just fast idle set. Most saws need a choke or prime after this long. It was 71 degrees this afternoon. Started good if you ask me for pulling a bar/sprocket in hardwood better suited for a 395xp and heat soaking it pretty good.

Round all I run so far for work. I think the square guys might even like c85 too for race chain or just to convert to square if they wanted to. The rakers are thinner looking than oregon or stihl chain.

It’s possible to convert a round to square but I wouldn’t do it, you’re looking for a corner that doesn’t exist and if you look at the backside of a square cutter it has a shelf to help line up on if you have the wheel the correct diameter. I’m sure it’s a great chain but it’s no square there’s a huge difference in cut quality at the end of the day plus you’re not as beat up.

Yup, I’m impressed. It’s definitely a improvement over a older 550 or 562.
It needed to be a huge improvement over the 562s on that issue that was a well known shortcoming not to address that would have been a big mistake! Glad its proving to be a nonissue for the 572. Hopefully the new 562 can say the same as its a great saw except for that and a few other things they can fix just a matter of weather husky chooses to. I hope they do I always liked my 562s and if they can fix those things I would buy another

6421 running that 32 with the 7 pin looked to handle it better i think the 8 pin was too much for the 572 with that bar
It was almost 10 seconds faster than the 6421 with the 7 pin and 4 seconds behind a modified 7900/7910 with 8 pin. The chain was semi skip on the dolmars. But yes I agree it would be faster with a 7. I was just trying to load the saw to it’s limits more than any average person would do to it. Torture test.

Okay I get the heavy loading. In a more strait up test is the 572 faster with a 7 pin running that 32" bar than the 7910 with the 7pin? I would also really like to see how they both do ported running that 32" seems the 7910 makes very good gains from porting 572 might be faster both stock but will have hard time beating the 7910 ported vs ported

Probably not faster than my 7900, it’s been worked on quite a bit and the husky stock. A stock 7910 with the restrictive muffler on it? Yeah I think the 572 might give it a run for its $. They are even rated at the same horsepower stock. Ported vs ported it’s probably gonna be hard for the 572/462 to beat a 7900/7910. You can do more with the 79’s and they have a displacement advantage. I do think the 462/572 are both quite good performers out of the box for stock saws. Just my humble opinion.

thanks for the info same as i was thinking close with both stock but both ported the 7910 comes ahead as it should having over 10% more displacement

I can understand the want for an 80cc version, but I think husky was focused more on building a saw that would hold up to loggers rather then saving.g a few oz of weight. Another member said it best when he said the 462 is a good firewood saw, the 572 is a loggers saw.

Nothing negative about my comments, I just agreed with another members opinion, the 572 is better suited to running longer bars such as a 28-32", nothing wrong with the 462, just think it's suited better for a 20-24". My honest opinion of the 462 is that is was built pretty much off a husky 372 design with mtronic added to it, nothing wrong with that, I love the spring AV and air injection filter setup, I think Stihl has finally came ahead 30 yrs, but what I don't understand is why the 500i still has the old filter design, huge missed opportunity there to me.
