I've got a couple of tack-driving Model 70 XTR Sporters in .270 with 24" free-floated barrels, glass-bed actions. Two of the most consistent bolt-actions I've ever had.I got skunked this year, but I didn’t get out as much as I normally do. Just too much going on. Still got to spend some quality time with my Winchesters lol

Model 70 is my favorite rifle, in particular my Sporter. Mine is chambered in 300WSM and shoots very tight.I've got a couple of tack-driving Model 70 XTR Sporters in .270 with 24" free-floated barrels, glass-bed action. Two of the most consistent bolt-actions I've ever had.

My 70 featherweight in 6.5 × 55 shoots five shot 1/2" groups consistently right out of the box with 140 grain match or 160 grain roundnose bullets. My 70 in 375 H & H shoots 1" three shot groups all day long as well, though only with 300 grain loads ugh, again right out of the box.
