Yes it is different, Mine is a SKS, It Is not same as a AK. but they both run the same 7.62. ammo.

I love my sks and bought it when still covered new in the grease. Has the bayonet 3 blood channel etc too.

I went back to the 10rd oem as my aftermarket 30rd clip wasnt dependable in it.

Freaking most accurate iron site sks I have seen. Shoot sycamore balls off the tree tops.

I had some sort of SKS awhile back. It was made by Norinco, had a shorter than std bbl, thumb-through stock, and took AK mags. Pretty cool rifle, but I sold it off to finance a S&W.

My SKS was super accurate with the right ammo. The cheap stuff turned it in to a lead hose. It was the better one with a milled receiver. Never shot it ,down the road it went.

I've got the same exact Norinco version that the magazine well was converted to take AK mags. Identical SKS.

Are you planning on going to Africa?

That's some fire power right there.
That and Alaska are two strong desires of mine. Plus I like high horsepower applications. Eventually i will have either a .338 Lapua, .408 Cheytac or .416 Barrett for distance.

I sold a Glock model 30, .45 about two years ago to a buddy of mine...just never could get used to the grip on it for some reason, even with a mag extension for the small finger. My hands are a little big though and long fingers...too much master-debating I suppose, lol.
I don't like the fit of the Glock, but I love it's reliability. Dad's Sig P320 is also a very nice weapon. I love the grip of His P250 but don't like the break point of it's DAO trigger. I had an original model 5" XD .40 years ago that I liked well and should have kept but needed money quick... Oh well.

I am a fan of the 338 vs the 408 or 416. The only reason being is components for reloading are easier to come by.

That's what I was noticing too. Dad had me reloading centerfire ammo before I was actually shooting it and we reload everything outside of Rimfire and carry loads (for legal reasons). I actually really enjoy the loading process, though I may get a progressive someday for the pistol calibers, .223 and 7.62x39mm.

A Dillon was probably one of the best purchases that I have ever made.

I have a dillon 450 and am considering the 550 upgrade. What do you have?

550. I love the thing.

At times I'd like to have a 650, but for the price of a 550 and caliber conversions I absolutely love it and recommend it to anyone.

How steep was the learning curve of getting everything setup, staged and indexed properly? I just inherited Dad's old Rock Chucker which has loaded countless rounds over the last 30 years or so. For precision rifle or revolver loads I prefer single stage presses, but am thinking that a progressive may be the ticket for higher volume production.

I'm looking at the 650 now. Solely for pistols, use my RCBS for the rifles.
[]

The 650 is pretty sweet, especially with a case feeder. The auto index is the cats ass.

Every once in a while I consider a SDB for handgun only. But having auto index with no case feeder option seems counterintuitive

That'd be the one must have option for me-case feeder. As my RCBS is auto or manual indexing, I'd set it up manually for rifles
