How do you like the ATOP

I have one but need different files

Sent from my non internal combustion device.

Still learning to use the ATOP. Didn't like how it worked on the saw bar. The tooth moved around to much. Needed an extra clamp to hold the tooth. Working better with Mikes chain vise. Still waiting for a modified part for Mikes vise. Mike had to do some extra milling so the ATOP would fit. Still figuring out the right hand cutters. Does left hand great. Left cutters file like butter. The right hand cutters take way more pressure to file. Even when filing outside in. Just tried it on a roll of new 72CL chain. The angles are more for racing than work chain. Wondering if the ATOP will be better on older chain than new chain. Further back on the cutter. I think it files the 72CL better than the 33RSL . The 33RSL is harder to file because of the chrome coating I think.

So I've read that the Save Edge files can be resharpened. Is this a common practice? Anyone know if Bahco does the same, or if I can get Save Edge to resharpen my Bahco's?

Save Edge will resharpen any file and will return or scrap any files too worn or damaged to sharpen at your option, prices are super cheap and they are great to deal with
They don't even charge guys from Ichigan any extra Wolverine fees :)

Just out of curiosity, what does the big gullet achieve?

I have been cleaning my gullets up with my regular 3/8 file. I started using my file for .325 but didn't like it as much as the 3/8 file. What size file are you guys using?
7/32 or 3/16 whatever I grab first. Sometimes when I'm feeling lazy I'll do the gullets on my grinder with a 3/16 wheel.

I'm curious myself.
I've converted round to square with a few strokes. Square top corner and the round side plate and it seemed to do pretty well so I started using a bigger file for the gullet.
I like a little more square side plate than the last pic I posted. This is how I do em now, still use a 7/32 gullet file though

Working on touching up some new 72cl chain. My file does cut better if I take the ATOP off and file a little steeper towards the tie strap.
