How to square file

@PA Dan do I take it that a hand filed 325 will beak crazy if one wants to avoid hitting the ties due to the shorter vertical tooth profile?

It won’t necessarily “beak”, as that’s more up to the guy filing. But your inside corner probably won’t line up due to filing more sideways to miss the straps, which is ok.

That has not been my experience with square chain. Mine usually throw some pretty big chips.

Second pic looks like the Pferd horse through a ring logo. Only logo I’ve ever seen for Vallorbe has been a fish on some of their packaging.

@huskihl just barely grazing the tie strap.

Now I know what I will use my spent round files on, breaking the edges on the tie straps where the file glides to have a better corner to corner alignment and saving those expensive files.
