Yes. But in the long run it is faster and more exact. Just way easier for me. I think you get a better cutter in the end.

Have been using the Vallorbes for the past month, the edge seems to last a long time.

My angles have been getting better as I understand my hands better when the file moves through.

Yup they are my go to files very good quality

Is the Stihl Hexa file available yet in the States? I think I saw it would be in Canada first.

No, not here. I asked and they looked at me like I was high (I wasn't). Went back in a week or 2 later and they had contacted their Stihl rep; the rep had no idea when it will be available here.

Went to the dealer today to pick up some parts, dealer called rep about the chain and files ive posted pictures of. Apparently a couple or few months away lol, not sure why they’re in the flyer.

About a year ago, I was able to get some Bahco files for under $8 each from Zoro.com. Some were also offered by abolox.com via eBay. But the prices seem to have shot up. And even then, they were sometimes ’out of stock’ after you placed your order.

I also found some Save Edge files, although, they may have been discontinued.

Root around the Internet for Pferd, Vallorbe, STIHL, etc. You might find someone sitting on a stash. Or you might want to pay the $14 + shipping just to try one.
