I upgraded to a x7 "3-saw plan" during last year, that are in running condition ready for work right off the shelf saws.

For withing close walking distance I like to grab my PS-6400 and either a PS-7300 or PS-7900 if it is a big job, or my PS-550 if it is a small to mid sized job.
If I go by car my 3-saw plan tends to be x2 and all the large frame honeys come with me, and one or two mid sized saws again depending what is awaiting me at the job site. The PS-64/73/79xx's take up the least space im my cars trunk since they can be stashed head on one into another.

Present Saw Plan

1: Echo top handle, 14" bar, 30+ years old, forgot model #, at my hunt cabin 800 miles north
2: Stihl MS 193 C-E. 14" bar
3: MS 270, Wood Boss, 16" bar
4: MS 241 C-M, 16" bar
5: MS 261 C-M, ported (MMWS), 18" bar
6: MS 400 C-M, ported (MMWS), 20" bar

Need one more saw in the 80 cc range?

Suggestions?

Next step up would be something like an MS460, or you could skip that and go to an 064 or 066/660/661.

At age 70 I maybe able to handle a MS 460, but don't think a 660 is in my best interest. LOL
460’s are a great saw size - at 77cc’s they have enough grunt. And yet are about 2.5 lbs lighter than the 660. They are also easy to work on, and easy to modify, if so desired.

Nice. I have been playing around with the idea of a 372 ported or 500i. Not sure at this point. Thoughts?

Might want to start with saws you already have, as after you get one done, it can get hard to stop yourself from getting more done after that.
To answer your question specifically though, they are both good saws once ported, can't go wrong there with either.

I get in trouble with this type of question. What @Stump Shot said. Built that 372 with ugly plastics, all new guts and p/c. Never owned a Stihl. Brother does, have ran a few and repaired several.

Echo 355T -1st self mod job, angry little thing.
Stihl 362cm- MMWS gave it the goodies, now a full time chip rooster.
McCulloch 10-10a- old glory for them lazy days.
MS 660- early model, went to visit XS Porting for a rebuild and " extra sausage " , that thing scares me and I like it.

Now seeking treatment for early stage CAD🤪
