My three saw plan really is a three saw plan….
1)xs572xpw
2)mmws 288xp lite
3)mmws 395xp

288 needs carb gone thru. I didn’t do any cutting to speak of from 2018 thru 2022 (divorce/ dads death/ grandmas death/ Covid etc). Didn’t have a fireplace to feed.

Funny how priorities change. I’ve owned 60 mmws saws since 2010. There was a time I had 7 ported 262s at the same time. Now priorities are cherishing every moment my girls want me around for, making life fun and exciting for them and just being a “present” parent. I’m not a sideline parent… if they get interested in something- I get interested in it too… skating/ VB etc.

Those 7-10 are fairly nimble, but boy they sure do run real strong, always surprises me with the power, and sounds great old school Mcculloch 👍
I've got a 7-10 in peices right now to restore.
I just spent Thursday stumping some huge sweet gums with my PM700 and I'm always impressed with the torque of those old girls.

As a collector/restorer I could have many three saw plans for many brand names .That said it seems I manage to get several models with duplicates ,like two or three of the same model .
As for the horizontal McCullochs they have the torque and can be made to run fast although they really don't need to .

5 now.

but the Thing is, it is for me only possible that i manage to cut with one.

over the Summer i worked in the Zitrusgarden and i had not much time to start a Saw. Now Winter is near and i stay at Home till end of March or April.

And now i would love to cut with all my good saws at the same time... Its hard to choose. lol

I most likely already replied to this thread, too lazy to check.

My 3 saw plan depends on the job at hand.
Most times it is my PS-6400 and a couple bigger ones, other times it is my PS-460 with PS-550 and possibly my PS-6400 or PS-7310.
On a job site farther away from home I bring a vast variety of saws along, and as many as I can fit in my car.

My PS-460 is for whatever reason turning 15k WOT making her a pleasant limbing saw.
I have been favoring my PS-550 for the awesome X-Cut chain she is paired up with and her extremely good fuel economics - also, she has great torque and good handling.
My PS-6400 is my universal all-rounder, the bigger saws are reserved for 24+" B&C setups.

Perhaps you should consider purchasing a larger car so the size of your vehicle is not a limiting factor...

I have three complete 55s but one is jealous cause it is open port.

I seem to be stuck in the 50, 60, 70 cc rut lately.

50, 60, 70 is a solid plan. For me, that's an 026 Pro, 036 Pro, and 10mm 044.

On a related note, I rarely see the need to go smaller than 50cc, and recently sold my two 020AV rear handle saws because they never left the shelf. Now the only sub-50cc saw in the garage is an 020AV Super top handle.

The one time I wanted a dink is when a guy dropped 4 big pines straight down from bucket.
Giant pick up sticks, I waded through with 034.
It was corona time and shops had nothing. Later I did buy a 170 but gave it away less than one tank.
I'll buy another small someday.
I didn't pick that cc sequence, it picked me.

Oh, I can fit about 8-9 saws in my car so that's not too bad.
Besides, I have a trailer if I ever felt the need to bring more saws along.

A little truck like that would occasionally be nice though.

I feel like my 3 saw plan is rock solid. All proven, tried and true saws and although their not by any means new saws their well cared for.

The 028 Super was my first "real" saw. I didn't even realize that I needed any other saws till I joined Arboristsite.
