Made major progress today. Thanks to my son helping. Might actually get to use it tomorrow. Which is a good thing. Wife vanished me to the couch. Guess I'm a little too sporty for her.

Got any 72 dl .050 husky chain in there?

Don't know yet. Just sorted the obvious LP into a separate box.

Need to figure out a chain rack.

When you hang 3/8" loops from a horizontal rod 1/2"-1" dia., it gets easy to seperatre the lengths. Even the 70 & 72 driver stand out from each other.

Worked on the splitter while it was storming..
Think I finally got it to quit leaking.
New water tight muffler, new rain proof AF box.
The on going evolution of splitter field study.

Twas time for a new AF cover

What did you do on the hydraulic tank?

Cut an access hole in the top of the tank and replaced the welded nipple with an inner and outer threaded plate and big rubber washers to sandwich the tank steel with.

Started and ran it last night and this morning.
No leaky..

Today will be the 2-3 hour run test.

Building a chain loop gauge. 1x3 x 4 foot (ish) long. 1/2" dowel rod in carefull drilled hole (drill press).

Using new, or nearly so, loops of known driver count marked where centerline of rivets end up.

If the one side works out, I'll do the other for 3/8 LP. And, make another for .325" & .404".
