I would put the MS290 and the 455 Rancher in the same class saw. I've run both. Stock saws. I like the Rancher a little better. I don't know that it has any more power but it feels smoother in the cut. And runs smoother, too. It "feels" better too. Maybe that's what is meant by "balance". I've had 290's in the past. I currently have a 455. :)

I would too never ran a 455 but that 55 is so dam light and mag case to boot. Now if it would stop oiling after its off.

Squish on this kit with no base gasket is .020 on the dot. Works for now anyway

I might have to purchase one of those heads after this happened today20170304_194357.jpgwas stumping some hedge before work. I think I had here a lil to lean. I get off at 5 be in the shop by 6 and pull it apart. It never ceased I thought I was out of gas. Sad part was it was the first time out with it and really putting the beans to it. oh live and learn.

damn man you scored her up good. I've got the saw together. Letting it dry tonight and testing tomorrow before I head back to academy
