Be careful on them. I have an 032 money pit sitting here I can't get going.
That and a 048 made me swear off antique Stihls.

Too many NLA parts.
Especially that particular series!!! I have several just like that Carl......

Am I the only one who hates the av bushing plugs? Lol the plastic pieces suck to deal with
If you're referring to the plastic plugs that fit into the av bushings, I agree. They suck. I've been asked to look after an 029 also. It's extremely dirty and the only way to properly clean it is to disassemble the entire saw. All the Stihl farm and ranch series are like that.

exactly what I am talking about. They're freaking hard to get mashed in. Not looking forward to taking them out to put the new handle on lol

I don't have a problem getting them in, but out really stinks.
But then, I suppose all brands have there short comings.

How do you usually get them out? I don't plan on switching the handle any time soon as I don't feel like dealing with it again

In my very short time as a saw hack I Have found that Sthil 1127 are a pain to work on and huskys like to leak and plastic poulans are funny.

I agree. I've got several everyday cutters. This was clean, runs strong, and has that vintage "cool factor". $60 well spent I figure. I'll fire it up often enough to keep things in working order.;)

I have an 041 with low compression and just missed one with good compression for $50obo right here in town. :(
