Haven't seen @Semotony posting in awhile. Anyone heard from him?

Kyle, talked with him January 25. He was doing fine at that time. Sometimes he just takes a while to get on here.

I talked to @Semotony on the phone a few minutes ago.
He had a fire at his house in December, and no longer has his device that he used to get on the forum here.
He has a place to stay with a friend of his, and he sounded like he is doing well.

Had a visitor show up in the yard today. Usually see them in the trees out in the field when they come into the area. And now I am thinking about a stand alone griddle. This attempt looked and sounded good in concept but the griddle cools too fast since it is so far above the flames.

Forgot this one, found a honey locust in the fence row to be cut as well. Don't know about milling but it will make dandy firewood.

Started raining sometime this morning radar shows it raining till 5 or 6 this evening.

Got 2" in my bucket /gauge.
Now it's sloppy off the gravel.

Honey locust mills surprisingly well & makes nice lumber......also a primo firewood option.

What cure did you use?

Eating some as I type....

Her current recipe;

For every pound of dead pig......
1 Tbsp salt
2 Tbsp real maple syrup.
1/2 tsp ascorbic acid (vitamin c) if you care about the color.....
Brine 10 days.
Smoked with apple wood chips.

Got a batch of beef bacon on today.
Hickory is the wood of the day today.

I try to smoke bacon at as low a temp as possible. 4-6 hours is usually enough time.

Sometimes longer, but Lisa complains if it’s too Smokey..
