Now I could have some fun with that..
I was imagining what it might be like on a grill...only problem is it'd likely catch fire with all that oil.

Now that is a fat cover

That’s a lot of lard.
We just finished it up, trimmed it carefully and gonna render it separate from the rest.....for science.

Sam weighed her in pieces.... 225bs total, with bones & fat.
Not bad considering it was a small breed.

Already 14° here. Going to force myself to go clean up some more dead from the field tomorrow after lunch. Better to use it this way rather than just piling it and burning it in the field. Trying to decide what to do with the new things I acquired today.

I can think of something to do with those and it involves fire, too.

Yep, seems like winter is tonight.
Supposed to get down to 12° here overnight.
I'll take those temps.

We're at -1f and going to -8f and those are before the windchill addition.
The current feels like windchill temp is -20f with the steady breeze numbers, and then those gusts are downright chilly.

Morning all, chilly 10° right now. Maybe upper 30's for the high. Made myself stay in bed longer today to try to catch up on some sleep. Stove and coffee for a little while before starting freezing outside, going to take the tractor a bit to warm up the hydraulics.
I can think of something to do with those and it involves fire, too.
Yep, dry brine last night in the shop fridge. They will hit the grill for lunch today.

I cut for 3 hours yesterday. Was loading the truck up and my shin/knee found the hitch. I cannot remember the last time I felt that kind of pain; probably the last time I did the same, which was decades ago...

About 8* with little to no wind at the moment. Heading out shortly to try some more goat hunting.

Winds are supposed to pickup later this morning with gust to18mph out of the SW, then switch to NW with gusts to 40mph in the afternoon.

I won’t be hunting this afternoon.

I have been kicking around another projectile launcher. Burning hair, wasting time, ink & brain cells trying to decide on a suitable choice. 257 Roberts, 257 Weatherby Mag, 243 Winchester, 25-06 Remington.

Pondered a 22 creedmore or 25 creedmore but I just can’t bring my self to by a creedmore. 6.5 fanboys pretty well ruined on those for me. My son bought one & I about fell out of my chair when he told me.

Had a 257 Roberts Ackley Improved but I sold it to my son. Bull barrel with bipod, it was a heavy pig to move around.

Leaning towards a 243 short barrel to carry around in trucks/tractors to smoke smoke coyotes.
i have an uncle that loves his 25-06 i think its a solid round. on that 22 creedmore i hadnt even seen it until a friend brought over a chritsensen arms he won in a raffle in that caliber. i will say that is a nice weapon. the ballistics on that round are quite impressive. but i still think it compares well to an ackley improved comparasion caliber.

Scheels usually has several used launchers at decent prices, I will likely try to look at their stock.

Bass Pro is usually overpriced on used unless you can stumble onto a good deal.

I haven’t seen any auctions coming up around here.
there is going to be an auction over here on the 25th at chaffee over 100 guns. its on brucker auctions website. ill try to post a pic of the gun list
