Happy birthday @Workshop. Should have joined us to watch the sun come up. You could have been home by brunch, we were done by a few minutes after 9. Didn't feel like cleaning that many so I added about 20 fish cleaning chores to Matt on the way home.

After the first round went through..

No worries.. I put some back for breakfast..
And you thought there would be none left after you and Levi got through with them last night. Or was this one of those put some away before you and Levi ate them all.

Chilly 32° for the start of the day. Waiting for the fire to warm the house a bit and drinking coffee before it gets light. Winter Solstice so the shortest day of the year. Didn't hear any animals talking except for the dogs saying let me out for my bathroom time but that is mainly nonverbal. Meant to work some cows yesterday and was waiting for them to make their afternoon round of the fields and return to the house area but dad showed up with a load of hay. When they heard the tractor start it was a futile effort to try to pen them up. Have to see if I can get some done this morning early and separate some spring calves before 10.

Moved a few heifers to my place and some spring calves to my parents. These are the tasty ones, getting nice sized for next fall. Neighbor will buy the other spring ones so he gets local healthy calves and not sick ones from the stockyards.

Thanks.

I looked at those but I grew a couple inches taller from my hind side clenching so tight.

We will be only processing 4-6 deer a year but something like that should last a lifetime though.
Yep, pretty pricey.
I bought ours back when I was rich and famous...lol.

Growing up we ground dozens of deer, elk, cows, and multitudes of hogs with the old fashioned hand grinders....lots of work, but with 15 kids in the house there was plenty elbow grease.

Before I bought the cabelas grinder we used a grinder attachment for a kitchen-aid mixer, they work okay.....sorta.
