Thanks to Tony and family for hosting the gtg, I think it was a pretty good success overall!
Powerful good food, lots of good range time, and pleasant company.
It was also good meeting a few folks I'd not encountered in the past.

Good morning!
Thank you Tony and your wife and family for your hospitality! All of the food was amazingly good! I have to ask what cut of meat was ground up to make those hamburgers? They were remarkably good.
It was really good to visit with everyone. There was an impressive assortment of projectile pushers there. Impressively accurate too!

Just standard hamburger from home grass raised beef. The middle one is this years freezer choice and we are still working on last years beef. I need to do more cooking and grilling it seems. I might sneak out a steak to cook up since this one got an 18 day hang.

Was your wife happy to not have to cook lunch for you today?

Bought another item for when we move to the Stamp. A wood stove. It’s similar to the one we had in our current house. (I had removed it after the fire and set it on the back deck out of the way. We hadn’t planned on putting it back in to the house because most folks don’t do wood heat and we wanted to set the house up to eventually sell it and move to the Stamp. But we were going to use it at the Stamp. Sometime in the rebuilding process somebody stole it. I actually saw it on marketplace last fall for sale. Thought about going to look at it, along with the Police, but had no way to actually prove it was mine.)
I had checked out new ones, what I call a circulator type, and they are EXPENSIVE. Up to about $1800 expensive. This one had been bought for a small cabin and only been used 4 times. It put out too much heat for the gentleman so he quit using it.

Good morning!
Last week was a busy one .
I made a 12-hour trip to Galesburg Illinois to pick up a well weathered Homelite sign that came from the business in my hometown (Carrollton, MO) that my Dad bought his first Homelite chainsaw. On the way back I picked up a couple chainsaws from Jacob K. near Hannibal and looked over his HUGE accumulation of chainsaws. Yesterday I met up with Mark Heimann in St. Louis on his way back from the Tennessee GTG to pick up three chainsaws that he had for me and bought a Marketplace bed mat for my truck from an individual that lived about 6 mi away from the meeting place. It was really nice to have a break in the middle to sit back and visit with old and new friends at Tony's.
Even though it doesn't look like it, I actually am trying to reduce my chainsaw inventory. I've got a Pioneer P-50 heading to Alabama today and a McCulloch 7-10 heading out next week.

My youngest brothers FIL is from Carrollton, their family still has a farm down there.

I have been to the ethanol plant a few times but that my extent of Carrollton knowledge. Lol.

Lots of low hanging clouds around today. Took me a bit to think about the first one this morning, cattle sale going on at the Joplin Stockyards today. And when I took the dogs out for last run tonight, Joplin to the northwest. Lots of light pollution that you can see when the weather hits like this.

Glad you got some of the leftovers. I meant to send Thomas home with some of the cheese I have in the shop fridge for some baked mac and cheese. Texted him the recipe from the book I used for it. Next batch will be made with queso blanco and pepper jack for a little kick. I think it would make for a good flavor combo.

Nowadays, that's pretty much the highlight of Carrollton. It's a shadow of its former self. Kind of sad.

Starting of long days/short light. Looks like rain to move into the area today and continue some tomorrow. One more parade for the boy on the first and then a little slack time for a month or so. Going to try to get some more saw time on that tree in Neosho Saturday morning before the parade, hopefully a couple more days of it and I will have it cleaned up.

Good morning folks
After yesterdays tree murdering this almost old fart,
is going to be doing a lot of streaching to loosen back up.
