No idea if I said Morning Everybody so I’ll say Afternoon everybody.
Got some more things done at the stamp this weekend. I actually heard a siren down there yesterday. It was the volunteer fire truck going up the highway. I think that’s the 2nd time, of going down there once or twice a month for five years, that I’ve heard a siren down there.
I’ve heard tons of V-twin cruisers there. (It’s a real popular road for motorcycles). They don’t go ripping up the road, though. I’d say 45 mph tops.

Digging around at grandparents house this afternoon trying to figure out some things to get rid of. This stove has been there for years so I drug it home to play with, been wanting a coleman style stove. Prentiss Wabers Preway P4523 circa 1945/1947. I'll try to get it cleaned up and rolling again for some out of doors cooking, creek bank style. Three burner should heat a griddle quite nicely.

My stolen p'up has some new info that hasn't got to me in total.
On a completely different subject20250901_181239.jpgthis young woman fell in love with me at 1st sight. Back 1st Sunday in june. I've been told to just thank our creatore daily, which I have. Still confused by a 32 year younger woman having the expression of care for me so quickly. When she isn't injured she runs 10-14 miles daily. Is separated from army after 21 years, a portion of which spent in west point as tactical instructor lol.
Wowser
Info on p'up, pulled over for traffic violation found to be stolen sent to tow yard lol

Lots of good stuff there. That jointer will be handy.
Also picked up two thickness planer / molders, a 12" craftsman and an 18" woodmaster.
Plus a wheelbarrow load of small stuff.

And, a 6' misery whip to hang on the wall.

Should the smoker (or whatever it is) have no floor?.........

Morning all. Cool 62° to start the day, guessers are saying highs in the upper 60's for this weekend. Need to knock down the high spots in the yard this week and fix a couple of bunk feeders the boys decided to tweak a bit. Going to get after it as soon as it is light, hay to feed and check for new calves before the day job.

Does not look like an intended smoker to me. I see no fire box. Looks like you could grill a hundred hamburgers with it though. I would most likely get overwhelmed and burn a hundred hamburgers, ruining the GTG...

Maybe a clean out was being made?

I really don't know.......to me it's just a "barbecue"........but that's what I call anything black that's used for outdoor cooking.

I paid a whopping $32 for it, so no big deal regardless what it's sposta be, I just figured it was probably worth more than that so I bought it to flip.

Beautiful stuff! Have you worked with this before with success? I chainsaw milled some 30" wide into 8/4 slabs and let them air dry a couple of years. Went to rip into 10" wide boards with skillsaw and it still had so much internal stress it would bind the saw and the boards twisted a solid 2", even though it was dry as a bone. This was about 4 years ago and I've not tried anymore, even though they're very plentiful here.
Just wondering if I had a wilder than normal one!

I don't have much experience with finishing big slabs in a live edge condition.....Matt has done more of that than I.
I have worked with big slabs cutting em down into smaller pieces..... and yeah, expect movement......sometimes lots of it, it all depends on the species, tree, and individual board.......and some on the way it's been processed.

I tell people, wood is not uniform...... if you want a uniform stable media, work with metal or plastic. 🙂
