We got a bit of overnight rain looks like 1/4” or so.

We could use more.

East of “The Dirty Lou” they are way behind with planting. Lots of planters & tillage equipment rolling yesterday. No crops up that I saw.

Reports that in northern Iowa a lot of replanting of corn going on because of poor stands.

From Sikeston east I thought things looked really good. A lot of wheat in that area, especially in western Kentucky & Western Tennessee.

The corn I saw looked very good as well.

Along Hwy 36 across Northern Missouri they are well behind as well.

The trip down & back ( food, gas, motel if overnighting , etc) cost isn’t horrible.

The Benchmade retailers near my daughters place always seem to syphon more funds than the actual travel expenses… :BangHead: :bash:

I tell myself that they will make nice graduation gifts for a couple of nephews, maybe.

I tell myself that they will make nice Christmas presents for my son-in -laws but after some thought 🤔 I realize that I don’t like really like them enough to give them a Benchmade knife.

This round started with a new kitchen knife & spiraled from there …

The local appliance store here with the best prices & friendly staff is a Spyderco dealer.

He basically sells at his cost because he is a knife nut & became a dealer so he can get them at lower cost.

I sure hope I don’t need any more appliances & parts for a while.

A couple months ago I got really distracted & almost forgot why I walked in there when I saw the knife display.

A $40 igniter for the stove somehow got very pricey. Damned inflation. :nusenuse:

Thawed out some ground pork yesterday to make a meat loaf out of. Thawed a package of beef short ribs to grind up and mix 50/50 with the pork.
Made an epic moat of grease around it..
Do the hounds get a bowl of grease on meatloaf day ?

Sunday boredom eat this point.

Made some cowboy caviar . The wife hates most of its components, but likes the stuff all together,,

That stuff is addictive, hard to back away from that feed bowl.

Goes well with pita bread, Tostitos whole grain scoops, toast or just a large spoon …

Watching the temperature drop and start clouding up. Total of about 2 inches of rain for the last couple of days. Soppy and sloppy right now. Gears in dads ice cream maker took a dump in one spot at the start of making. I spent the entire time moving it past the one bad spot on every rotation. Took some dedication but I like my ice cream. Looks like I know what to get him for fathers day. Boat is charging right now, trying to decide if I am going to tempt fate in the early AM. Rain I can deal with but lightning is another matter.

I suddenly want to go down to the local Waffle House and feed my face. 😜

Mo Am Water/SJFD tested the fire hydrants some ten or more weeks ago. The nasty taste hasn’t cleared up yet. 🤬

I can’t go to Quick Trip all the time so I’m going to get several gallons of distilled to make coffee. 🤞

My well water isn't magnetic but contain mucho rust that shows on shower walls. I'm cheap enough to reuse gallon bottles by filling at the AA meetings I attend, except where an attendee commented about the stuff she found in her tap water the others cover it
