Looks like we are getting ready to get hit with rain about 6:30. Things are soupy and soft so who knows how it will get now. Neosho river looked to peak but this rain will be the determining factor on whether it drops back into its banks. When it does this will be last bank fishing trip for spoonbill so if anyone wants to try let me know.

Looks like another day of overcast & rain/drizzle. We have maybe .10” - .25” daily or every other day, depending on location.

Nothing you like folks down south are getting but just enough to think that maybe “tomorrow “ we can go back to the field.

Pretty sad state of affairs when I had a fire going last night & was wearing a stocking hat while mowing the yard today.

They decided to deliver the mower today, so I figured with no planting or trucking it would be best to trim the dandelions off while I had time.

I did find about a dozen mushrooms this evening.

After the wind died down & the overcast skies cleared it wasn’t too bad.
What mower did you get?

Deere Z760R with a 60” deck.

Closest Spartan dealer is down in St. Joseph, 75 miles. We have a couple country clipper dealers & cub cadet dealers as well as a toro dealer but ultimately JD’s warranty, proximity, financing options, trade in value of my X380 & a couple other discounts offered JD won out. Figured if Deere wants to give zero interest, I can throw money at other things.

2 Deere dealers close by, one 25 miles & the other 15miles.

Deere was offering 4year/1000hr warranty.
It will never see 1000 hrs while I own it.

Deere had no interest for 36 or 48 months or .9% for 60 months.

Ride is very good & it holds the banks very well.

I really wanted a deck with out the back option but they are priced out of my interest & that series is 3yr/1200 hr warranty.

The out the back chute is a much cleaner operator experience while mowing & no thrown debris.

One of the out the back would be nice.

Another fire tonight, it was overcast & rained 1/2” this morning, cleared off about 1:00 or so. It got up to about 65* today.

Started clouding up again about 4:00 - 5:00 & rained another .12” at home.

Guessers are saying 38* overnight, I just can’t let the furnace run. I wake up every time it kicks on & I find it annoying to listen to. Mama isn’t chirping about being cold so that’s good.

Probably burn overnight thru Sunday night.

I’m no deerologist but those look like they could have been related
The one on the left was about 1/2 mile north of the house & the one on the right was about 8 miles north.

I have another one that I found over a month ago that looks similar as well, I will try find it & get a pic of it. It was pretty ripe so it got tossed in a ditch to be “cleaned” up.

These are pretty typical for this area.

Morning all. Blackberry winter morning starting at 40°. Couple more nice days before rain settles in again so I need to get some stuff done. Starting the spraying of thistles and multiflora rose while the sun is out.

I might even get to cut the grass today.

It’s firming up out there,
pfft!

Trust me it's just a waste of good time. I had to do it yesterday and it was a 2 pass event to get rid of the clumping piles cause I waited about 4 days to long.

And I haven't put any weed and feed down yet either.

47f this morning about 80f later on this Sunny-day.
