61/81 with rain around....it's gonna be steamy.

Iowa was good for Morel hunting. Never found any down here. All the rest seem to grow just fine but no Morels in 18 years.

We used to have a lot of Elm trees and when they died off, I could pick Morels in the yard. Harder to find now, but I usually start looking around the time the Lilacs blossom.

Don't know. Haven't done any research on any of them yet.

So far the #5 appears to be an unmarked Wagner and the #8 appears to be an unmarked Griswold. When they are completely striped I will know for sure. They will be going back into the vinegar later today.

#5 is an unmarked Wagner. Made to be sold in Woolworths or Wards at a discounted price. The dead give away is the flat triangular shape where the handle meets the pan side.

No mesquite, lots of pecan, rarely hickory. Hickory is around, i rarely get any for some reason; pecan is abundant

If I knew you were in the area we should have tried to find some places to mushroom hunt with the grump. Few conservation areas around to be hit if nothing else.

It took a lot of soaking and scrubbing, but it is finally giving up it's secrets. Vollrath. Made in Wisconsin between 1920 and 1960. Way more were made with heat rings than not so a bit more rare. It is as clean as it is gonna get. The seasoning starts in a bit.
