My church celebrated it’s 100 year anniversary today. I grilled burgers for almost 3 hours

I was in north Wisconsin/lake superior one year in August... a few random mosquitoes, but otherwise way better weather than here.
I have close to zero desire to go farther south in the winter, but I understand some folks do.

Ice is not off the lakes up there yet, at least not ours. Wife is itching to go up to the cabin, but has to wait a couple of weeks yet. Heard that a neighboring lake still had 2' of ice.

Picked up the biggest ash log tonight..

Met one of the 5 Highway Patrol cars that responded to this a little after 5 about 8 miles west of here. He was pouring the coals to his patrol car at that time. Intersection is just west of the house. Took until I was home around 8 tonight before they got the cars involved loaded on wreckers and taken away. Seems to be a lot of wrecks in the area lately. Going to have to wait a while to find out what happened, but people are stupid at this intersection all the time.

News released that a 6 year old boy was killed in the wreck last night. Sad to say but it is not the first and will not be the last. Next time I get a chance to talk to State Patrol in Diamond I will give them permission to set in my yard by the corral. Traffic flies by the house all day long. Perhaps a few tickets will prevent another one.
