Down south, people pay for it by dealing with the summer. Up here, you pay for it by dealing with the winter. I prefer winter, but fargo is waaaay more brutal than here in the winter. I wish you luck
If it wasn't for my wifes high paying job I would of never considered this place. So far this town is close to 100% better what I'm leaving behind. Which is methheads holding begging signs and nightly gun fire.
I like the cold. It keeps people quiet and inside and out of my way.
Wayne was around Topeka. If I can be nosy, what town in Kansas did you live in? I'm a bit ignorant about how bad larger cities (I presume it was a city) on the east end of the state are.

The state Capitol............If I can be nosy, what town in Kansas did you live in? I'm a bit ignorant about how bad larger cities (I presume it was a city) on the east end of the state are.
Cold weather usually has people moving with dedication vs looking like Stevie Wonder trying to find the space shuttle.I don’t believe I have ever heard anyone talk bad about Fargo, most folks I have spoken with say it’s a great place to live.
I doubt the cold is going to keep many inside over the winter up there but most folks I dealt with in Fargo were very polite & friendly.
other than pointing out my southern accent.
I laugh when I hear that phrase now.
The state Capitol............
Nothing is random.

And yeah people are nice up here other than pointing out my southern accent.

I didn't realize Topeka had gotten that wild, but it doesn't surprise me. It always seems Capitols are a bit on the wild side. I haven't been to there in probably 20 years.
Do you really have a southern accent or do they just have a northern accent?
I worked on the road with a couple friends, when I got out of high school, and we went up into Michigan and most people asked if we were from Texas. At first we wondered why they thought we were from Texas. Then people were commenting on our southern accents. None of us have a southern accent, as in an accent like folks from the south, but just because we talked a bit slower and some words were drawn out, they assumed we were Texans. Lol
Man, I’d bet they couldn’t even understand someone from Mississippi or Arkansas..I got that a lot also & laugh when I here it too. I get chit about it from folks in Des Moines. Apparently I live close enough to Missouri that it makes me a southerner.
Guess ill be done in the southern vicinity again working in late September. First headed to north side of Tulsa on 75 and then onto I-40 on the Arkansas/Oklahoma border. Been around 5 years since ive worked in Oklahoma or so.
If anyone ever wondered if a dairy cross steer could marble...

The yield was not as good as a good beefer, but the quality is better than I had hoped.
