Finally made it back home. Nashville is the worst for interstate traffic. Let alone toss in an accident. Then 24 in Kentucky was doing road construction (about time) in 2 different locations. Down to one lane. Had everybody stopped in each area for hours. We left at 6am central and got home at 8:30pm central.
Tired would be an understatement.

Here was todays AgriTalk morning show. I am not sure if any of you fellas listen to it.

About the 6 min mark they talk about a rare earth extraction facility being built in Texas funded by the Pentagon. Then there is an economist in the next segment that has an interesting opinion on how to help out the cost of oil & the strategic reserves.

As well as some inflation & housing news.

Good morning, Gentlemen!

I picked up a 2016 model Spartan SRT-Pro with a 25HP Kohler and a 61" deck. It had 180 hours on it and was just serviced.
It sure cut down on my mowing time. Works nice on the steep slopes too. I would like to see better grip on the tires though...

Looks good. That's how I get commercial mowers too. Old enough to be affordable.

I didn't listen to it, but I'm guessing he must have been talking about going back to policies that worked for us before the last 18 months.

Kevin’s old Gehl round baler mustered over 80 bales yesterday..
Bout 100 more to go today..
color me impressed. When I saw that thing, it didn’t give confidence, and the bales aren’t beautiful, but it’s filling em up and getting em tied..

He’s running it with a 35 HP Kioti.. lol

And it works... go figure.

I actually switched my Hustler from regular Carlisle turfs to the Spartan radials. They hold a side hill well and don't tear up the grass as much as bar tires. They are a very good balance or traction to destruction of turf.

I was thinking the same thing..

Spartans come stock with those radials.. Was one of their bragging points. I mow the ditch banks with em no problem. Now mud? They don't like mud..

The unit does better on the hillsides than I expected already.

Glad y'al made it safe. Tired can be rested away inexpensive, compared with the man on vacation who changed the in tank fuel pump in a rest stop. Wife wasn't asked to help push tank back up into place.

That’s the problem with me...

When I *s-word canned the old cub cadet, and got the spartan, the difference was so dramatic, all I know is what little I know..
Went from 1:45 mow time to 39 minutes...

And it looks way better.

I finished mowing today. It took a total of 3.5 hours. I should be able to do it in 3 or less next time. There was quite a bit that I could not mow with my old mower, so that ate a lot of time getting it knocked down.
I was a little apprehensive about the 61" deck not being as versatile with the ditches and uneven ground, but it has worked out great. I can do more with this configuration than with my conventional with a 48". A lot less weadeating now.
I used a little less than half a tank of gas. I believe it holds about 10 gallons.

Damn..

That’s too much yard..

Might I suggest a hayfield instead?

Cutting for 3 hours every week is gonna get damn expensive..
