Cut this small ornamental down in the daughters back yard a week ago.
I’ll see if I can get a pic of a piece of the wood.

The leaves are a round heart shape, not like the cherry above. Three in a bunch.
Daughter says it had purple blooms.
This sounds like an excellent informative & educational thread for you to start Carl. Thank you for volunteering to do this. Let us know when you post it.
Got a nice big pecan tree from a tree service dump. Nice long and straight limbs. I was salivating when I saw it. After hitting metal 4 times I called it quits!!! Damned yard trees!!!

Found a dog chain wrapped around once. Bout 30 years prior to dropping the tree.Good grief! I've been very fortunate and haven't had a ton of metal in the trees I've done, or I've just got lucky and missed it all. Hit some metal in a maple a couple months ago when I was stumping it.
The worst I had was my buddy's big ole locust I posted on here, back after I first signed up. I was trying to cut the crotch off the top of the trunk and hit something inside and come to find out, someone put a dang rock about the size of a good sized potato in there and the tree engulfed it.
